CEUs
All physicians need to conitue their education to maintain thier license. They do this by gathering CEUs or continuing education units. CEUs are a unit of credit equal to 10 hours of participating in an accredited program which are designed for professionals with certificates or licenses to practice their profession. |
Texas CEUs
In Texas, physicians are required to have 24 hours of CEUs over a period of one year. There are certain requirements for some hours. At least half of these hours must be in formal, category I courses and at least one of the formal hours must involve the study of medical ethics or professional responsibility. Courses can include risk management, domestic abuse, or child abuse. |
